What Is CMMI Level 3 – Defined?

CMMI Level 3 builds on the practices established at Level 2. The major difference is that processes are no longer managed only at the individual project level. The organization establishes standard processes that can be adapted according to the needs of different projects.

This gives teams a common framework while still allowing appropriate flexibility. Projects can use and contribute to organizational process assets, helping the organization learn from its experience and improve the way work is performed.
